The Technology Center
Two High-tech lines exclusively dedicated to research & development.

The Reifenhäuser technical center ist the worldwide biggest research and development center for plastic extrusion technology. Amongst others there are two state-of-the-art lines for the production of cast films and thermoforming sheets - exclusively dedicated to research and development.

MIDEX 9-layer Cast Film Line

Production capacity: up to 1.000 kg/h
Film width: max. 2.100 mm
Film thickness: 0,012 – 0,350 mm

Extrusion

  • 8+1 Single screw extruders (150/80/80/5+1x60 mm) with universal screws for processing of various polymers and for edge encapsulation
  • 1 co-rotating twin screw extruder REItruder RZE70 (70mm) e.g. for processing of PET without any pre-drying or crystallizing

Forming

  • Patented 9-layer coextrusion feedblock REIcofeed 2.1-9
  • Flat die-head MIDEX-SD03-2400 with edge encapsulation system

Downstream

  • Casting unit MIDEX-CU2 with 1000 mm cast roll and 2 post-cooling rolls
  • Innovative ultra-sonic thickness measuring system

Winder

New generation winder MIDEX-RA4-2500 with patented rotary arm system for max. roll diameter 1000 mm, multi-web winding up to 5 webs on 3” and 6” cores, special contact roll for improved roll quality

 


MIREX 9-layer Sheet Line

Production capacity: up to 1.000 kg/h
Film width: 800 – 850 mm
Film thickness: 0,15 – 2,00 mm

Extrusion

  • 5 Single screw extruders (130/80/70/2x50 mm) with universal screws for processing of various polymers
  • 1 co-rotating twin screw extruder REItruder RZE70 (70mm) e.g. for processing of PET without any pre-drying or crystallizing

Forming

  • Patented 9-layer coextrusion feedblock REIcofeed 2.1-9
  • Flat die-head MIREX-SD05-1000 with ISR II inline slot regulation system

Downstream

  • Brand new polishing stack MIREX-MT-V-1000 with patented mechatronic roll gap adjusting system and electrical axe-crossing
  • Inline heat roll lamination system for PE-adhesive films

Winder

  • Cantilever winder with accumulator for 1000 mm roll diameter
